Resumo
Neste artigo, refletimos sobre a imprensa portuguesa a partir de 1807 e sobre a imprensa brasileira a partir do ato real de 31 de maio de 1808, contextualizando o momento político, histórico e literário que propiciou o surgimento da imprensa literária nacional e o desenvolvimento da imprensa literária lusitana, bem como o aparecimento da imprensa ilustrada romântica, nos dois países.
This paper deals with reflections on the Portuguese press from 1807 on and on the Brazilian press from the enactment of the Royal Act on May 31, 1808, providing the political, historical and literary context which furthered the beginning of the national literary press and the development of the Portuguese literary press, as well as the emergence of the Romantic illustrated press in both countries.
