The information technology and the increasing interest in the American Latin studies, especially about Brazil, are the objective of these reflections. In the research about the colonial period in Brazil, a group of works, systematized and divulged by electronic means, beyond the usual sources – Portuguese, Italian and Brazilian Universities and Institutes – are from Europe and North America, and its access is facilitated by the worldwide network. Platforms and collections such as Europeana and others less known constitute important sources to the studies of this field. We will comment here some fundamentals to contribute to the subject sources of colonial Brazil.

A tecnologia da informação e o crescente interesse nos estudos sobre a América Latina e, em especial sobre o Brasil, são os objetos destas reflexões. Nas pesquisas sobre o período colonial do Brasil, um conjunto de trabalhos, sistematizados e divulgados por meio eletrônico, além das costumeiras fontes – Portugal, Itália e Institutos e Universidades Brasileiras – provem da Europa e da América do Norte, tendo o acesso facilitado pela rede mundial. Plataformas e coleções como a Europeana e outros menos conhecidos constituem importantes fontes para os estudos dessa área. Comentaremos aqui alguns fundamentais para contribuir com o assunto fontes sobre o Brasil colonial.
