The GNLS equations (generalized nonlinear Schröndinger equations) contain as a particular case the CNLS equations, which can be regarded a model for soliton generation in optical fibers, in the absense of dissipative efects. In this work we discuss a systematic construction for this class of integrable models, by the using of the infinite dimensional Lie algebras XXXXX. We also discuss the construction of N-soliton solutions, in particular the case associated to XXXXX
