This study aims to investigate the organization of school space in Brazil, from its primordia, around the sixteenth century (VXI) with the Portuguese colonization in the country, up to the present days, with a focus on the changes that have occurred both physically and socially within the school space. Studying the different configurations of this changes over the years, and taking as reference Foucault's concepts on the subject, this bibliographical research aims to study the possible consequences that the organization of this space reflects in its use and how it is seen beyond the pedagogical look, as well as an instrument of power

Este trabalho tem como objetivo pesquisar a organização do espaço escolar no Brasil, desde seu primórdio, por volta do século XVI, com a colonização portuguesa no país, até o momento atual, tendo em foco as mudanças que ocorreram tanto física quanto socialmente dentro deste espaço. Estudando as diferentes configurações do mesmo através dos anos, e tomando como referenciais conceitos de Foucault sobre o assunto, essa pesquisa bibliográfica tem como finalidade estudar as possíveis consequências que a organização deste espaço reflete no uso do mesmo, e de como este é visto além do simples olhar pedagógico, como também instrumento de poder
