Resumo
Este trabalho de pesquisa fundamenta-se na observação das Classes de Educação Especial para portadores de surdez e audição subnormal, inseridas em Escola Pública Municipal de Ensino Fundamental. Os objetivos desta investigação fundamentam-se em três fontes de informação: o objeto do trabalho, o material coletado durante a pesquisa e a literatura pesquisada. Objetivo do trabalho: avaliar o comportamento de discriminação e aceitação dos colegas de classes regulares em relação às crianças portadoras de surdez; análise do comportamento dos professores de classes comuns, que receberão esse alunado; análise das expectativas dos professores especialistas e dos pais quanto ao futuro de seus filhos especiais. A escolha dos participantes e do instrumento de pesquisa em estudo é efetuada a fim de diminuir, tanto quanto possível, a interferência de variáveis que possam mascarar os resultados. Foram utilizados questionários escritos, dirigidos aos alunos de 3ª e 4ª séries do Ensino Fundamental e professores de classes regulares, entrevistas semi-dirigidas para professores de classes de Educação Especial e pais. Para a avaliação dos questionários e entrevistas foram usadas regras de percentagem. Os resultados vêm mostrar a dificuldade de integração ou inclusão da criança surda nas classes regulares por razões como: despreparo dos professores das mesmas classes para recebê-los, dificuldades dos alunos surdos, educados através do oralismo que acabam por não entender os professores (não os ouvem), bem como suas explicações; dificuldade de comunicação com os colegas, tornando-se mais excluídos e, consequentemente, apresentando dificuldade de aprendizagem, o que os leva a retornar às classes especiais, a pedido dos pais...
This research study is based on the examination of Special Education Classes taught to deaf and hearing-impaired students at Municipal Public Elementary Schools. The objectives are based on 3 kinds of information: the study’s subject, the material that was collected during research and the researched literature. Work's objective: to evaluate the behavior of regular class students in relation to discrimination and acceptance of deaf classmates, analysis of the behavior of regular education teachers who will teach these handicapped students and analysis of trained teachers and parent's expectations as to their handicapped children’s future. The selection of the participants as well as of the research instrument on hand is done in such a way as to minimize, as much as possible, the interference of variables that could alter the results. Students in 3rd and 4th grades and teachers of regular classes answered written question forms; partly controlled interviews were made with Special Education classes teachers and parents. The evaluation of question forms and interviews was done through percentage rules. The results show the difficulties of a deaf child in integrating to or in attending regular education classes for reasons such as: untrained teachers of these regular classes to teach them, problems of deaf students who were taught orally without understanding neither the teachers (they can’t hear them) nor their explanation, difficulty in communicating with classmates, thus becoming more isolated and having further difficulties in learning and finally returning to the special education classes at parents request. Although there is no discrimination among the majority of hearing classmates, they have difficulty in communicating with them and end up isolating them.
