dc.description.abstractEsta pesquisa teve como objetivo principal investigar a relação entre a concentração econômica do capital e a especialização territorial produtiva no setor sucroenergético na região de Iturama (MG). Para isso, analisamos a formação de um aglomerado de Usinas Coruripe do Grupo Tércio Wanderley (GTW), como uma estratégia competitiva de uso do território. Inicialmente, propusemos uma periodização da evolução da cadeia da cana-deaçúcar, sobretudo a partir da constituição do Programa Nacional do Álcool (PROÁLCOOL), em 1975, passando pela sua desregulamentação no início da década de 1990, e a tentativa de condução de uma transição energética pelo Estado brasileiro na década de 2000. Em seguida, analisamos os processos de concentração e centralização de capital no setor sucroenergético nesta última fase, impulsionados pelo crédito e incentivos fiscais estatais. Os incentivos resultaram também numa expansão territorial da produção de cana-de-açúcar, incorporando a região foco dessa pesquisa: Iturama (MG). Após fazer uma breve caracterização da área de estudo, analisamos como ela se insere na divisão territorial do trabalho da produção de açúcar e etanol, a partir da análise das características intrínsecas das usinas na região e a forte especialização territorial produtiva. Na terceira parte do trabalho, analisamos a lógica de expansão territorial do GTW na região de Iturama (MG) no contexto regional do Triângulo Mineiro, em Minas Gerais. Para isso, apresentamos e discutimos a expansão da área plantada e das usinas a partir do ano de 2003 no Triângulo Mineiro e a relação com os produtores e as estratégias de fornecimento da cana-de-açúcar, com a elaboração do circuito espacial produtivo e os círculos de cooperação das Usinas Coruripe. Os resultados elucidaram que a produção sucroenergética do Triângulo Mineiro é distribuída em três regiões diferentes que possuem um total de 21 usinas controladas por 14 grupos, entretanto, aproximadamente dois terços da produção total é controlada por apenas três grupos que comandam dez usinas, entre eles o GTW.pt
dc.description.abstractThis research aimed to investigate the relationship between the economic concentration of capital and the productive territorial specialization in the sugar-energy sector in the Iturama (MG) region. For this, we analyze the formation of a cluster of mills Tércio Wanderley Group (GTW), as a competitive strategy of land use. Initially, we propose a periodization of the evolution chain of sugarcane, especially since the establishment of the Programa Nacional do Álcool (PROÁLCOOL) in 1975, through its deregulation in the early 1990s until his resume as an attempt driving an energy transition by the Brazilian Federation in the 2000s Next, we analyze the processes of concentration and centralization of capital in the sugar-energy sector in this last phase, driven by credit concessions and tax incentives by the federal government. The incentives have also resulted in a territorial expansion of production of sugarcane, incorporating the focus of this research area: Iturama (MG). After a brief characterization of the study area, we analyze how it fits into the territorial division of labor in sugar and ethanol production, from the analysis of the intrinsic characteristics of the plants in the region and the strong productive territorial specialization. In the third part of the paper we analyze the logic of territorial expansion of GTW in the Iturama (MG) region within the regional context of Triângulo Mineiro, Minas Gerais. For this, we present and discuss the expansion of the planted area and the plants from the year 2003 in the Triângulo Mineiro and the relationship with producers and supply strategies of sugarcane, with the development of the productive space circuit and cooperation circles of Coruripe Plants (belonging to the GTW). The results elucidated that the sugar-energy production Triângulo Mineiro is distributed in three different regions with a total of 21 controlled plants by 14 groups, however, about two-thirds of the total production is controlled by just three groups who run ten plants, including GTW.en
