ItemTrabalho apresentado em evento Ergonomic research applied in the design of pre-school furniture: The Mobipresc 3.6(2000-12-01) Paschoarelli, Luis Carlos [UNESP]; Silva, José Carlos Plácido da [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)This research describes the application of a scientific and technological model of Ergonomics in the design of pre-school furniture. The constant presence of the desk in early education and its influence in the relationship between the user and his educational environment determined the necessity of this project. The pre-school desk was considered as a work station, where the joint aspects of education and child anthropometry substantiate the problem. The review of the Historical application of Ergonomics in the Design of children's products consolidated the importance of this report. The development of ergonomic research, characterised by investigations of the Brazilian child's Anthropometry Data and Biomechanical Features, resulted in dimensional parameters of the user and physical characteristics of the present furniture. These elements, together with a comprehension of activities and needs in the pre-school, were connected with aspects of bibliographical revision to result in a series of recomendations for design. A. [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)A low-voltage, low-power OTA-C sinusoidal oscillator based on a triode-MOSFET transconductor is here discussed. The classical quadrature model is employed and the transconductor inherent nonlinear characteristic with input voltage is used as the amplitude-stabilization element. An external bias VTUNE linearly adjusts the oscillation frequency. According to a standard 0.8μm CMOS n-well process, a prototype was integrated, with an effective area of 0.28mm2. Experimental data validate the theoretical analysis. For a single 1.8V-supply and 100mV≤VTUNE≤250mV, the oscillation frequency fo ranges from 0.50MHz to 1.125MHz, with a nearly constant gain KVCO=4.16KHz/mV. Maximum output amplitude is 374mVpp @1.12MHz. THD is -41dB @321mVpp. Maximum average consumption is 355μW.ItemArtigo A low-cost neurostimulator with accurate pulsed-current control(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2002-05-01) De Lima, J. A.; Cordeiro, A. S.; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)A constant-current stimulator for high-impedance loads using only low-cost standard high-voltage components Is presented. A voltage-regulator powers an oscillator built across the primary of a step-up transformer whose secondary supplies, after rectification, the high voltage to a switched current-mirror in the driving stage. Adjusting the regulated voltage controls the pulsed-current intensity. A prototype produces stimulus of amplitude and pulsewidth within 0 less than or equal to I-skin less than or equal to 20 mA and 50 mus less than or equal to T-pulse less than or equal to 1 ms, respectively. Pulse-repetition spans from 1 Hz to 10 Hz. Worst case ripple is 3.7% at I-skin = 1 mA. Overall consumption is 5.6 W at I-skin = 20 mA.ItemTrabalho apresentado em evento A low-voltage programmable-gain current-mode amplifier(2002-12-01) De Lima, Jader A. [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)A CMOS low-voltage, wide-band continuous-time current amplifier is presented. Based on an open-loop topology, the circuit is composed by transresistance and transconductance stages built around triode-operating transistors. In addition to an extended dynamic range, the amplifier gain can be programmed within good accuracy by the rapport between the aspect-ratio of such transistors and tuning biases Vxand Vy. A balanced current-amplifier according to a single I. IV-supply and a 0.35μm fabrication process is designed. Simulated results from PSPiCE and Bsm3v3 models indicate a programmable gain within the range 20-34dB and a minimum break-frequency of IMHz @CL=IpF. For a 200 μApp-level, THD is 0.8% and 0.9% at IKHz and 100KHz, respectively. Input noise is 405pA√Hz @20dB-gain, which gives a SNR of 66dB @1MHz-bandwidth. Maximum quiescent power consumption is 56μ W. © 2002 IEEE.ItemArtigo A low-voltage low-power analog memory cell with built-in 4-quadrant multiplication(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2003-04-01) De Lima, J. A.; Cordeiro, A. S.; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)An accurate switched-current (SI) memory cell and suitable for low-voltage low-power (LVLP) applications is proposed. Information is memorized as the gate-voltage of the input transistor, in a tunable gain-boosting triode-transconductor. Additionally, four-quadrant multiplication between the input voltage to the transconductor regulation-amplifier (X-operand) and the stored voltage (Y-operand) is provided. A simplified 2 x 2-memory array was prototyped according to a standard 0.8 mum n-well CMOS process and 1.8-V supply. Measured current-reproduction error is less than 0.26% for 0.25 muA less than or equal to I-SAMPLE less than or equal to 0.75 muA. Standby consumption is 6.75 muW per cell @I-SAMPLE = 0.75 muA. At room temperature, leakage-rate is 1.56 nA/ms. Four-quadrant multiplier (4QM) full-scale operands are 2x(max) = 320 mV(pp) and 2y(max). = 448 mV(pp), yielding a maximum output swing of 0.9 muA(pp). 4QM worst-case nonlinearity is 7.9%.ItemTrabalho apresentado em evento On designing linear tunable high-Q OTA-C filters with low sensitivity(IEEE, 2004-01-01) De Lima, J. A.; Alcaide, F. M.; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)This paper discusses a design approach for a high-Q low-sensitivity OTA-C biquad bandpass section. An optimal relationship is established between transconductances defining the differencebeta - gamma in the Q-factor denominator, setting the Q-sensitivity to tuning voltages around unity. A 30-MHz filter was designed based on a 0.35 mum CMOS process and V-DD=3.3 V. A range of circuit simulation supports the theoretical analysis. Q-factor spans from 20.5 to 60, while ensuring filter stability along the tuning range. Although a triode-operating OTA is used, the procedure can be extended to other types of transconductor.ItemArtigo A low-voltage wide-swing programmable-gain current amplifier(Kluwer Academic Publ, 2004-12-01) de Lima, J. A.; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)A CMOS low-voltage, wide-swing continuous-time current amplifier is presented. Exhibiting an open-loop architecture, the circuit is composed of transresistance and transconductance stages built upon triode-operating transistors. In addition to an extended dynamic range, the current gain can be programmed within good accuracy by a rapport involving only transistor geometries and tuning biases. Low temperature-drift on gain setting is then expected. In accordance with a 0.35 mum n-well CMOS fabrication process and a single 1.1 V-supply, a balanced current-amplifier is designed for a programmable gain-range of 6 - 34 dB and optimized with respect to dynamic range. Simulated results from PSPICE and Bsim3v3 models indicate, for a 100 muA(pp)-output current, a THD of 0.96 and 1.87% at 1 KHz and 100 KHz, respectively. Input noise is 120 pArootHz @ 10 Hz, with S/N = 63.2 dB @ 1%-THD. At maximum gain, total quiescent consumption is 334 muW. Measurements from a prototyped amplifier reveal a gain-interval of 4.8-33.1 dB and a maximum current swing of 120 muA(pp). The current-amplifier bandwidth is above 1 MHz.ItemArtigo Assessment of the ergonomic design of diagnostic ultrasound transducers through wrist movements and subjective evaluation(Elsevier B.V., 2008-11-01) Paschoarelli, Luis Carlos [UNESP]; de Oliveira, Ana Beatriz; Cote Gil Coury, Helenice Jane; Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar); Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)This study presents procedures for assessing the redesign of ultrasound transducers. Wrist movements were recorded using elect rogoniometers. Perceptions of discomfort and acceptability of the new transducers were evaluated. The assessment was performed in two phases: (1) design of the product and an initial evaluation of movements during simulated activity with one mock-up and with two commercially available transducers; (2) project review and the development and evaluation of new mock-ups (2 and 3) by non-experienced subjects, and subjective assessment of all the mock-ups and commercial transducers by non-experienced subjects and trained physicians. First mock-up did not present improvements regarding the wrist movements and the time spent within safe amplitudes. The project review resulted in two new mock-ups that led to lower average amplitudes of movements (p <= 0,05) and more time spent within safe amplitudes. Thus, the application of quantitative (recording movements) and subjective (perceptions of discomfort and acceptability) approaches allowed for subsequent redesigns of the transducers that led to improvement of the product under evaluation.ItemTrabalho apresentado em evento Accessibility and usability of health care equipment for obese patients: A case study in a Brazilian public hospital(2008-12-01) Do Carmo Lucio, Cristina; Paschoarelli, Luis Carlos [UNESP]; Razza, Bruno Montanari; State UniversityObesity is a chronic illness that has been considerably discussed because of its alarming increase. Obese individuals, besides the risk of developing several health and psychosocial problems, have restricted access many products, especially due to problems of size and resistance to weight. Medical and hospital equipment deserves special attention because it demands greater efficiency in promoting patient rehabilitation. This study aimed to analyze if the equipment available in a Brazilian public hospital was satisfactory for obese patients. The research procedure consisted of interviews with professionals and patients, systematic observation of the environment of the study, and metric and descriptive analysis of the equipment. The results indicated that most of the equipment served the majority of the obese patients, even though the equipment was in a bad state of repair. Other products, however, would require immediate intervention to help obese patients.ItemResumo Projeto Chiquita: estudo de caso para aplicação de fibras de bananeira(Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), 2009) Ferreira, Herisson Donizetti Redi [UNESP]; Goya, Cláudio Roberto y [UNESP]; Rosa, Rodrigo Presotto [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)ItemResumo Projeto D. For his inclusive approach, its professors were many artists, architects and craftsmen from different ideals. Thus were brought together painters, sculptors, decorators, architects and other professionals from many different locations. With their existence tied to political events of the interwar period, this school has several limitations and had to move its headquarters several times. The aim of this paper is to report briefly the main events in the short existence of this school forerunner of contemporary design.ItemArtigo Forças manuais e o design de produtos: uma revisão(2010) Razza, Bruno Montanari; Paschoarelli, Luis Carlos [UNESP]; Lucio, Cristina do Carmo; Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM); Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)Object manipulation is common in most daily living activities and many products and tasks require the application of large hand strength. The great incidence of injuries and accidents related to manual activity is a result of the lack of reliable and consistent parameters to design more efficient products. The aim of this paper was to review studies related to hand strength and indicate the characteristics and variables that have influence on the occupational tasks and everyday activities. Among those characteristics, we highlight the body posture and the positioning of various body segments as factors that may reduce the force, such as wrist deviation or inadequate postures. The type of grip was also widely investigated, resulting that handgrip can exert more force than pinch grips. In rotary strength evaluations, the flexion and extension movements of the wrist are generally stronger than pronation-supination. In general, cylindrical objects or those which have smooth surface finish are less effective in activities where greater strength is required. These considerations highlight the importance of knowing the variables related to manual activities, and indicate the need to investigate further the hand-object interface in both occupational and everyday activities.
