dc.description.abstractThe focus of this article is the child and the city. The purpose was to identify what the city of Pres-ident Prudente (SP) is like for children, based on their experiences. The qualitative research was based on childhood sociology and childhood geography, outlined by a case study, which involved ten children from a municipal public school. The children made drawings inspired by the phrase: My city is... and made oral considerations about what they illustrated. The common elements in the drawings led to interpretations concerning the collective imagination about the city landscape. The city was conceived mainly as a passing space, with few representations of interactivity and playfulness. From the eyes of the children, it is assessed that interventions are needed so that the spaces of the city favor meetings and play.en
