Edson Soares Diniz was an indigenous ethnologist amazonian, which was held at the Universidade Estadual Paulista J & uacute;lio Mesquista Filho (UNESP) and the Museu Paraense Em & iacute;lio Goeldi (MPEG), studying indigenous groups along the line of ethnic friction, contributing to studies at Brazilian and Amazonian anthropology. Throughout his trajectory, produced memories of himself recorded and evidenced in his personal collection, which this article presents the biographical aspects of his life and work. Documents connect his individual trajectory to collective memory, including records of institutions where he worked and/or studied, his dialog with fellow ethnologists, and materials related to his research objects. It is evident that by archiving his life, he produced not only records of himself but also memories of anthropological science in the Brazilian Amazon.
