EVALUATION OF HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK CONDITIONS IN A TINKERING AND PAINTING WORKSHOP

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the health and safety conditions at work in a body shop and paint shop located in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. Through the analysis of biological, physical, chemical, ergonomic and accident risks, as well as the characterization of the company and workers' profile, it was found that there was a need for significant improvements in the work environment. The shop, classified as a micro-enterprise, presented non-conformities such as exposure to high noise levels, lack of adequate use of personal protective equipment and record of serious accidents. Circumstances with risk levels classified as tolerable to intolerable were identified. Therefore, the company presented a moderate index of quality of working conditions. These results highlight the importance of investing in preventive actions to ensure the health and integrity of workers, contributing to the reduction of accidents.
