Resumo
The text which follows aims at arguing the creation of the Tocantins State which took place in the National Assembly Constituent in 1988 and it was taken over on the 1st of January, 1989. 20 years after it was taken over, we are setting a look that consists of demonstrating the involved mythological ritual in this act that was a political one but was structured by the use of religious elements. Thus, the construction of this politicaladministrative unit of the Brazilian federacy was inserted in a representative perspective which represented and elaborated basis of imaginary of collective support and the elaboration of symbolic universes.
