Abstract

Abstract (portuguese)

Dessa forma, será possível entender algumas das propriedades físicas do estado fundamental e identificar as principais fases presentes no modelo: ferromagnética, paramagnética e antifase.

Abstract (english)

Through models of strongly interacting electrons in a lattice, such as the model of Heisengberg, Hubbard and Ising, it is possible to describe a series of phenomena at the frontier of physics, such as superconductivity of high critical temperature and heavy fermions. Furthermore, through them it is possible to understand the transitions of quantum phases. In this sense, this work seeks to study the properties of the Anisotropic Next Nearest Neighbour Ising (ANNNI), in a linear chain. The theoretical approach of symmetry analysis and the numerical method of Lanczos will be used to diagonalize the Hamiltonian matrix. In this way, it will be possible to understand some of the physical properties of the ground state and identify the main phases present in the model: ferromagnetic, paramagnetic and antiphase.
