Resumo
Nos poemas da coletânea Ariel, de Sylvia Plath, há diversos diálogos entre a inserção biográfica que os caracteriza e discursos da tradição religiosa, mitológica, histórica e literária. Nessa teia, a voz lírica tipicamente feminina dos poemas plathianos é constituída por meio de uma imagética corporal que a faz emergir diante desses discursos. Tal imagética muitas vezes faz par com a figurativização da morte em suas mais diversas facetas. A relação entre corpo e morte, no entanto, vai além da caracterização temática, pois ela representa o próprio processo da escritura. Desse modo, os poemas de Ariel podem ser vistos como constituintes de uma poética de dramatização e gozo de uma morte em cena.
In Sylvia Plath’s Ariel poems, there are several dialogues between the biographical insertion that characterizes them and discourses of the religious, mythological, historical and literary tradition. In this web, the typically feminine lyrical voice of the plathian poems is constituted through a corporal imagery that makes it emerge before these discourses. Such imagery frequently pairs up with the fi guration of death in its diverse facets. However, the relationship between body and death goes beyond the thematic characterization. Indeed, it represents the proper process of writing. Thus, the Ariel poems can be seen as constituents of a poetics of dramatization of and delight in a dying act.
