Resumo

On this article we present a study that intends to investigated the perceptions of teenagers about television programs which approach bullying, and how it can inflict on the their concepts related to schools programs aimed at preventing and fighting these type of issues. This way, we've carried a theoretical survey about bullying and media, asking students from 6th to 9th grades to answer a questionnaire about it - both from public and private schools in President Prudente-SP. Beyond that, we've created focal groups in order to understand students' point of view on the prevention and containment practices of bullying in the schools, and to verify if there was a relationship between this and t he cases shown on the media, from the data taken from the students. In general, they could recognize that such relationship happens; however, for them, the way they show it on the programs isn't effective on the bullying prevention and containment. We understand that, in order to battle such thing, there must be a continuous work of awareness and of construction of values, having the media-education as the possibility to promote such reflections.
