Information literacy at workplace: a systematic literature review focused on Industry 4.0

Resumo

Objective: Industry 4.0 is transforming the productions means and way of working in organizations. In this context, machines and systems are connected and transfer data. As a result, more and more organizations need of information literacy enabled people, due to the massive production of data and information in Industry 4.0. The objective is to identify how the scientific literature has dealt with information literacy in the context of Industry 4.0. Method: Used the Systematic Review of Literature with a qualitative approach, from the search of 10 national and international databases: ProQuest LISA, EBSCO LISTA, BRAPCI, ENANCIB Proceedings, SCOPUS, SciELO, Web of Science, Erudit and the Portal of Periodicals of CAPES. Result: It is evident that there is a knowledge gap regarding information literacy in the context of Industry 4.0. In this perspective, it is highlighted that it is an opportunity for the development of research in this field of knowledge. In addition, researchers have shown some concern about the potential consequences of Industry 4.0, such as reduced employment and rising social inequality. Conclusions: The Information literacy is the first step for society to be able to deal with the problems triggered by Industry 4.0. Thus, its development, application and consolidation are crucial for people to criticize these transformations intelligently. The society need to understand the interests of developers of disruptive technologies, the role of government and the interests of entrepreneurs. This understanding occurs through access, appropriation, reflection, criticism, use and reuse of information intelligently.
