Resumo
O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar as evidências científicas sobre o uso da Terapia por Ondas de Choque
Extracorpórea (TOCE) no tratamento da espasticidade de indivíduos pós-AVE, a fim de identificar os
parâmetros de tratamento, os locais de aplicação e os resultados obtidos nos estudos já realizados. Trata se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura de 2005 a 2019, referente a artigos publicados em inglês. A seleção foi baseada entre cruzamentos dos descritores: stroke, spasticity e extracorporeal shock wave therapy, nas bases de dados: PubMed, Medline, PEDro e Lilacs. Na amostra final foram selecionados 13 artigos, sendo todos internacionais. Os estudos evidenciaram que a aplicação da TOCE reduz a espasticidade e acarreta melhoras funcionais em indivíduos com espasticidade. Entretanto, não há consenso em relação ao tempo de duração de seus efeitos e nem sobre os parâmetros de aplicação.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the scientific evidence on the use of extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) in the treatment of spasticity in post stroke individuals, in order to identify the treatment parameters, application sites and results obtained in the studies already carried out. It involves an integrative review of the literature between 2005 and 2019 in English. The selection of articles was based on the following key words in the PubMed, Medline, PEDro and Lilacs databases: stroke, spasticity e extracorporeal shock wave therapy. In the final sample 13 articles were selected, all of which were international. Studies have shown that the application of ESWT reduces spasticity and leads to functional improvements in individuals with spasticity. However, there is no consensus regarding the duration of its effects or the application parameters.
