The main objective of this Course Conclusion Work was the study of the effects of turbulence in separation bubbles generated in a convergent-divergent channel, for the study of such effects, the analysis of different turbulence models was performed, choosing the k-ω SST model to carry out the simulations. The two-dimensional numerical simulations were performed in the ANSYS Fluent software, so that the post-processing step of the results obtained was carried out in MATLAB. Thus, as a boundary condition at the entrance of the convergent-divergent channel, we used the velocity profile at the exit of the flat plate, also carrying out a study of mesh covergence in order to choose the most suitable mesh. Thus, one of the results of this work was the identification of the separation bubble, the boundary layer separation and reattachment points, and the length of the bubble, from flow properties such as friction coefficient, Cf , pressure coefficient, Cp, derivative of the velocity in the x direction at the y position and the vorticity. At the same time, we studied the effects of varying certain parameters, such as the velocity at the channel entrance, the angle of divergence and turbulent intensity, in the separation bubble, thus, the divergence angle was fixed at 4° and the velocity was varied, then the turbulent intensity was varied for a fixed value of speed and finally, the divergence angle was varied to a speed of 0.15 m/s. This way, it was observed that the increase in channel inlet velocity, turbulent intensity and angle of divergence cause the bubble length to be reduced. In addition, the contours and streamlines were plotted, in addition to velocity profiles at a fixed x position for different velocities and turbulent intensities, noting that the increase in these parameters causes a reduction in the flow reverse.
