Resumo
O presente trabalho busca apresentar e analisar as contribuições de três autores sobre a
distinção entre direita e esquerda, a saber: Norberto Bobbio, com a obra “Direita e esquerda
– razões e significados de uma distinção política”, Anthony Giddens e o livro “Para além da
direita e da esquerda – o futuro da política radical”, e Murray Rothbard, com a obra
“Direita e esquerda – perspectivas para a liberdade”. Os autores discutem proficuamente
diversos temas relativos à distinção. Bobbio faz uma análise acurada dos argumentos
contrários e favoráveis à díade e propõe a oposição entre igualdade e desigualdade como
definidor entre da esquerda e direita, respectivamente. Giddens apresenta a superação desta
discussão, e tenta propor questões essenciais à uma nova sociedade na pós-modernidade.
Por fim, Rothbard discute as perspectivas para a liberdade sob a ótica do libertarianismo.
This study aims to present and analyze the contributions of three authors of the distinction between right and left, namely: Norberto Bobbio, with the work "Right and left - The Significance of a Political Distinction", Anthony Giddens and the book "Beyond left and right - the future of radical politics”, and Murray Rothbard, with the work “Left and Right – the prospects for liberty". The authors fruitfully discuss various issues relating to the distinction. Bobbio makes an accurate analysis of the arguments against and in favor of dyad and proposes the opposition between equality and inequality as defining between left and right, respectively. Giddens has overcome this discussion, and tries to propose key issues to a new society in postmodernity. Finally, Rothbard discusses the prospects for freedom from the perspective of libertarianism.
