Brasil (Scientific Electronic Library online), BIREME (Portal CAPES e Biblioteca
Virtual de Saúde), Google Acadêmico e Pubmed (US National Library of
Medicine National Institutes of Health).
interdisciplinar, envolvendo treinadores/as, fisioterapeutas, médicos/as,
psicólogos/as e gestores/as, bem como pesquisadores/as.
It's possible to affirm there was increasing in the number of injuries in Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) caused by the crescent number of participants, the growing difficulty of the movements and the excellence seeking in the execution of the elements. Although the technology and movement techniques avoid the training overcharge and soften the impacts, the high intensity of the training, at the high level of sport, can lead to increased sprains, torn ligaments, and other problems. Thus, the present study aimed to investigate the most frequent kinds of injuries in WAG and in a specific way, investigated methods of prevention and rehabilitation. The method chosen was the literature review about "injuries and preventive measures in WAG", using articles from the bases SCIELO Brasil, BIREME, Google Académico and Pubmed. Data showed a high rate of injuries, with an emphasis on lower members, caused, especially, by movements on the floor. It suggested intense multidisciplinary work evolving coaches, physiotherapists, doctors, psychologists, and managers, as well as researchers to avoid injuries.
