equilíbrio emocional e o bem-estar mental dessas mulheres.
Desta forma, o trabalho „‟ A relação
delas.
In contemporary times, there is an elevated number of mental illnesses, among which anxiety disorders stand out, which notably have a higher incidence among women. Pregnancy invariably causes a disruption in the pregnant woman's previous lifestyle and can cause, in many women, problems with emotional balance and mental well-being, as evidenced by the high incidence of anxiety cases during pregnancy. Here are analyzed the neurobiological foundations and the correlation between undiagnosed or untreated anxiety during pregnancy and the subsequent occurrence of episodes of “baby blues” and postpartum depression. The results obtained allow us to see the role of the limbic system in the anxiety and stress response, in addition to the activity of the neurotransmitters norepinephrine, serotonin and γ-aminobutyric acid, which have a direct participation in the anxiety or stress response in pregnant and postpartum women, making it possible to to correlate continuous stress with anxiety disorder and its effects on women's lives.
