The phylum Mollusca is considered the second largest taking into account the richness of described species (70.000 species), it has a wide distribution in the terrestrial, aquatic and diverse ecosystems. In the present study, freshwater molluscs of the Thiariidae family (Melanoides tuberculata, Aylacostoma chloroticum) were analyzed, in view of the important role they play in the life cycle of trematode parasites, since as passengers of these, they are the main connection between the aquatic hosts and terrestrial vertebrate hosts. Through this project it was possible to know and describe the cercarian types that are found in the gastropod molluscs of the Thiariidae family that inhabit the region of the upper Paraná River, thus creating an inventory of the parasitological fauna present there, which will later facilitate future studies, through the relationships and characteristics understood between parasite-host in collections and laboratory observations.
