Resumo
The reproductive rates affect directly the amount of generated animals in a livestock production system and its productivity. The use of technologies that improve the nutritional management of cows during the breeding phase impact the increased growth and better development of their offspring, both during pregnancy and after delivery. The success of fetal development, higher weights at birth and weaning, as well as some better reproductive rates as the early puberty and heifer pregnancy rate, depend on the assurance maintenance the nutritional requirements of the mothers in ruminant rearing system. Studies and monitoring that relate the availability of nutrients in food matrices, fetal development during pregnancy and the body condition score before, during and after pregnancy cows are extremely important for increasing reproductive performance in production systems allowing greater productivity and higher profits.
