dc.description.abstractA simple model is set forth in which discrete changes in the statistical distribution of various features are treated by means of stochastic matrices, which transform one probability distribution into another one. A few examples of application of this method, like phyllotaxis and heredity of blood groups in humans, are presented and discussed.en
