Historically, ABD as received unrestricted support from the Brazilian Society f Dermatology, from their Board of Directors and admin- strative staff to the youngest associate. This support is rucial, reflected by the careful and regular reading, con- tructive criticism and suggestions, the dissemination and ppreciation of articles of interest, and by the submission f excellent work. It is never too much to remember that ABD is the only Der- atology journal in Latin America that is indexed in Medline nd, together with Actas Dermo-Sifiliográficas of Academia spañola de Dermatología y Venereología, the only ones in bero-Latin America.1 This fact translates the dimension of ur responsibility and the challenges related to the qualifi- ation and representation of Brazilian dermatology, as well s that of our sister countries. The growth of ABD, since its ndexing in 2009, can be evaluated in an excellent article y Miot et al.,2 which depicts and discusses the ABD biblio- raphic data related to the period of 2010---2019. We must cknowledge the presented data and we have drawn useful essons from them to increase the scope and visibility of the ournal. At present, our intervention is restricted to chang- ng the denomination of the ‘‘Investigation’’ section to ‘Original Articles’’, aiming at expanding it and opening pace for case series reports, basic research in Dermatol- gy, clinical trials, epidemiological surveys, and systematic eviews. That does not mean that these topics have not eing published in ABD, but we want to make this option learer. Adjustments to the publication rules will also be How to cite this article: Marques SA, Roselino AM, Almeida Jr HL, bbade LPF. An effective intervention regarding the content of the ascicles will start with number 4 of volume 96. Never- heless, we will continue to place emphasis on Tropical ermatology, Infectious and Parasitic Dermatoses, STIs and IDS (open to research, reports and case series) and on ermatopathology, as these are differential topics and ommitments of our Journal, emphasizing that these pub- ications are free of charge for the authors. Finally, we urge Brazilian and Latin American Derma- ologists to make ABD the channel for the dissemination f their studies and experiences, in compliance with the tandards and quality of photographic documentation and ext review, be it in Portuguese or English.
