Since classical Greece, the constitution of man has been portrayed through literary/poetic, philosophical or Romanesque discourses. The theme of this paper is the subject's process of constitution. To approach this process, we will resort to literature and cinema as possible discourses to reflect on the formation of man. We will take Carlo Collodi's work The Adventures of Pinocchio, and Benigni's film Pinocchio, as discourses on the formation and constitution of man. In the first part of the paper we will present the typology of the novel as proposed by Bakhtin, searching in Pinocchio the features of the romance of formation. In the second part, we will reflect on the concept of education underlying the work. To do so, we will make a parallel between the work of Collodi and the concept of education in Durkheim.41-52porCINEMAEDUCATIONFORMATIONLITERATUREChildhood, time and experience: a look at education based on PinocchioArtigo10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v22n1p41-52WOS:000361538700004Acesso restrito
