Place: Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu - UNESP. Method: Cultures were taken from the conjuntiva of 30 patients after the use of Silver Vitelinate (15 patients) and Povidine (15 patients) immediately before the cataract surgery. Result: Positive culture was observed in 8 patients that received Silver Vitelinate and 8 that received Povidine.
