Para isso, recuperou-se o processo histórico da formação da sociedade brasileira e da ideologia racista, bem como a resistência negra através da rememoração da história das comunidades quilombolas e de suas simbologias. O trabalho abordou tanto as violências advindas da questão étnico-racial, forjada pelo colonialismo e pela escravização, quanto as lutas por ela suscitada. Além disso, buscou-se refletir sobre a relação do Serviço Social com o debate étnico-racial e com as comunidades quilombolas, visto que a profissão possui um projeto ético-político centrado na liberdade e na emancipação. O estudo foi fundamentado na metodologia histórico- dialética, tendo em vista o contexto histórico-social e suas contradições, a partir da pesquisa bibliográfica. Este trabalho não teve a pretensão de esgotar a temática, e sim suscitá-la.This study aimed to understand the ethnic-racial issue in Brazil. For this, the historical process of the formation of Brazilian society and racist ideology was recovered, as well as black resistance through the remembrance of the history of quilombola communities and their symbologies. The work addressed both the violence arising from the ethnic- racial issue, forged by colonialism and enslavement, and the struggles raised by it. In addition, we sought to reflect on the relationship of Social Service with the ethnic-racial debate, and with the quilombola communities, since the profession has an ethical- political project centered on freedom and emancipation. The study was based on the historical-dialectical methodology, considering the historical-social context and its contradictions, based on bibliographical research.
