No presente estudo, o dispositivo TheraMon foi incluído no aparelho ortopédico funcional tipo máscara facial de uma paciente diagnosticada com má oclusão de Classe III e retrusão maxilar e foi realizado o monitoramento do uso do aparelho durante quatro meses. As consultas foram mensais. Foi possível observar que a utilização do dispositivo de monitoramento do tempo de uso TheraMon foi eficaz, visto que pôde-se analisar nos retornos da paciente, a adesão da mesma ao tratamento, afim de que caso não houvesse uma boa colaboração, ela seria novamente orientada e estimulada a seguir as recomendações de uso. Apesar de existir poucos estudos sobre o TheraMon, foi possível concluir que teve grande importância no acompanhamento do tempo de utilização do aparelho extra bucal pela paciente, pelo qual conseguimos mensurar a quantidade de horas que a paciente utilizava o aparelho por dia.This study aimed to verify the effect of the know ledge of the patients of the use monitoring microchip (TheraMon) on the motivation of the patient underwent treatment with a facial orthopedic device.
