Resumo
A conjuntura política e econômica favorável ao mercado de etanol, e o forte movimento do agronegócio canavieiro em diferentes frentes de expansão no território nacional, apresentados, sobretudo a partir dos anos 2004, desafiou-nos a apreender e compreender as (re)configurações geográficas e espaciais, tanto no âmbito do capital como do trabalho. Um novo desenho está sendo gestado no campo, pois com a expansão do cultivo de cana-de-açúcar e implantação de novas unidades processadoras, terras onde antes se desenvolvia a pecuária e outras culturas agrícolas estão sendo destinadas ao cultivo de cana, especialmente por meio de arrendamentos. Este setor produtivo, que tem sido historicamente beneficiado com políticas agrícolas, vantagens creditícias e programas estatais, conta na atual fase mais uma vez com o Estado, o qual tem se revelado um forte aliado e arregimentador desse processo expansionista. Alianças entre usineiros, latifundiários e o poder público estão sendo costuradas com o intuito de legitimar terras irregulares em poder de grileiros, bem como de desmobilizar os movimentos sociais comprometidos com a luta pela terra, pela Reforma Agrária, pela garantia da soberania alimentar, pela preservação do meio ambiente e, portanto, pela construção de um modelo alternativo àquele pautado no agronegócio...
The political and economic circumstances favorable to the ethanol market, and the strong movement of the sugar cane agribusiness in different fronts of growth in the national territory, provided, particularly from the years 2004, challenged us to learn and understand the (re) configuration and geographical space both in the capital and labor. A new design is being conceived in the field, because with the expansion of the cultivation of cane sugar and deployment of new processing plants, where land is developed before the livestock and other agricultural crops are being used to grow sugar cane, especially through leases. This productive sector, which has historically benefited from agricultural policies, benefits credit and government programs, says the current stage once again with the state, which has proved a strong ally and arregimenter this expansion process. Alliances between mill owners, landowners and the public are being studied in order to legitimize illegal land held by landowners, and to demobilize social movements committed to the struggle for land, for land reform, ensuring the food sovereignty, the preservation of environment and therefore the construction of an alternative model to that ruled in agribusiness. The three government agencies in the country are supporting this expansion process, guided by the discourse that provide the same increase in the number of jobs and income...
