English words are frequently present in the actual world scenario, which integrates culture, information, commerce, economy and other subjects as global topics. In this way, children become more familiar with words in the English language. They also grow in an electronic-virtual environment where games and toys, as well as, TV programs and music favor the use of the English language. All that promotes and facilitates English language teaching and learning. Therefore, in the city of Votuporanga, located in the Northwest of the State of São Paulo, English is mandatory in all Municipal Schools (CEMEI and CEM). In 2014, the researcher felt uneasy about the traditional pedagogical practices ongoing at those schools and became particularly interested in developing a project that could make technology an efficient tool in promoting a fun learning environment for the native digital generation. In this way, the objective of this work was to develop and apply digital class board games for the first grades of the elementary school. The idea was to prove that digital class board games are supporting tools that motivate children in the English teaching and learning process. This study is based on theories about foreign language teaching approaches, the use of new technologies in foreign language teaching and on the main features of gamification aimed at the digital generation. This is a qualitative and descriptive research focused on the development of digital games. We hope that the use of games may help improve the relationship between the digital generations and the English language classroom pedagogical content. We hope that this research may contribute to a more positive, playful, pleasant and effective classroom interaction. As a result, the games My family, Painting and Tic Tac Toe were developed for first, second and third grades respectively. The final product of this work is a web page that hosts the games and all related information.
