Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) is a sign language that covers the needs of the Brazilian deaf community and was established in Brazil as an official language; it is taught in institutions serving students with deafness. In this view, this study aimed to evaluate the efficiency in the implementation of an educational program of a word group in Libras using a software with augmented reality technology, evaluating the initial and final repertoire of students with deafness. The study included 8 students aged 7 to 16 with hearing loss. They were submitted to initial and final evaluations, in which we were able to have an overview of the relationships and knowledge of words. The intervention was divided into five sessions for teaching 15 words, 3 words in each educational step. After using the software, evaluations were applied in order to follow the teaching of these words. The results point to the difficulty in selecting the letters of the alphabet and building the name of a particular word. Regarding the sign, it was observed that participants mastered the related signs but had difficulty in identifying their correspondent: pictures and written words in Brazilian Portuguese. The difficulty participants had to memorize the correct sequence of letters that make up a word in Brazilian Portuguese was evidenced. The implementation of the resource can, not only teach new words and relationships, but also expand the development of strategies for planned teaching in Special Education.
