This thesis is a transversal investigation across the fields of Education, Philosophy and Magic. The singular path of my existence, combined with the perception of the emergence of knowledge and practices of magic as a possibility of resistance to biopolitics and neoliberalism today, supported the research problem in the following terms: How does the relationship between philosophy and magic allow us to experience another philosophical education at the present time? My general objective is to develop bordering uses between magic and philosophy that problematize prevailing practices in our academic formation in philosophy. I experiment with the hypothesis that making the ethics of care of the self visible in its archaic dimension - an emerging chronology of Western philosophy - allows integration into the field of magic as a possibility to rehearse a type of philosophical education that expands the set of self-techniques beyond critical thinking and humanism as an epistemological and disciplinary paradigm that currently subjective us. I think of care of the self tied to two key concepts that relate to it in the archaic period: the daimon and dreams. The specificity of my object invites Michel Foucault as the main theoretical framework of the thesis, but it requires me to think with and beyond him. This movement arises from four specific objectives, synthesized as thesis chapters: (1) I rehearse an anarcheology as a research procedure and attitude, showing certain (un)desirable interface between biopolitics and magic, and also the gesture of erasing the visionary thought promoted by the secularized speech of philosophy. (2) I excavate the archaic traces of philosophy taking as a focal point the link between care and use of the self, which led me to shamanism, allowing me to think about an esoteric and exoteric face of philosophy. I treat Socrates as an infamous master of care of the self, a hinge between the paradigms of philosophy and magic, making pharmacology visible as another face of philosophy. (3) I think of the dream dimension of care of the self. I analyze two dreams seen by Socrates to rehearse a philosophy of expression entangled in the act of writing as self-alchemy. Dreams in this direction comprise an ethical, prophetic and healing dimension that exceed the uniqueness of the psyche, finding an insurrection as a political spirituality of the common in the face of death. (4) Finally, I produce an anarcheology of the daimon with resonance for care of the self, which can integrate ascetic spirituality in its task of self-formation and transformation of itself to erotic as a destination entangled by the cultivation of desires. I question, in this way, how the daimoniac limit-experience allows to expose the fissures of the democratic structure of the West. Such path has enabled me to rehearse a philosophical education by gift, which integrates an ontology of the soul with the stylistics of existence through the ascetic and erotic dimension of care of the self as a challenge for contemporary times.
