Identifying the spatial distribution model of pests in the crop is essential to define an efficient and reliable sampling plan. The objective of this research was to determine the spatial distribution of adults of Lagria villosa in soybean crop. Data were collected in the agricultural year 2020/21, at the Experimental Genetics Station - Anhumas, of the Superior School of Agriculture “Luiz de Queiroz” (ESALQ/USP), located in the municipality of Piracicaba, SP, in two different areas of approximately 10,000 m² each. Each sampling area was defined by 100 m² each, totaling in the Dispersion I area, 90 sampling areas, and in the Dispersion II area, 94 sampling areas. Weekly, in each area, the counts of adults were carried out with the aid of sampling by a batting cloth, at one point in each sampling area. The dispersion indices (Ratio Variance/Average, Green's Coefficient and Exponent k of the Negative Binomial Distribution) and the chi-square test of adherence to verify the adjustment of the observed data to the expected data, defined that the distribution model of Lagria villosa is of the aggregate type, adjusting throughout the period of infestation to the Negative Binomial Distribution model.
