Resumo
Esta dissertação de mestrado tem por finalidade analisar os Programas da Disciplina Literaturas Africanas de Língua Portuguesa do curso de Letras/Licenciatura da Universidade Estadual Paulista câmpus de Assis (Unesp-Assis) entre os anos 1998 e 2018, com intuito de verificar as marcas teórico-literárias que expressam sua constituição, além de compreender como ela é delineada no âmbito acadêmico brasileiro, em especial no curso de Letras da Unesp-Assis. Ademais, analisa a entrevista de três docentes responsáveis pela disciplina no período em questão. Mais especificamente, busca desvelar o processo de criação da disciplina Literaturas Africanas de Língua Portuguesa no curso de Letras da Faculdade de Ciências e Letras de Assis; estabelecer relações entre as informações encontradas na análise do documento e as entrevistas dos professores que lecionaram a disciplina no supracitado curso; depreender as escolhas teóricas e metodológicas dos professores para afirmar a importância do ensino de Literaturas Africanas de Língua Portuguesa nessa faculdade; articular a análise documental com as entrevistas para compreender as práticas e representações dos docentes e, a partir disso, construir um entendimento do processo histórico da disciplina e seu reconhecimento na academia. O trabalho com esses programas justifica-se pelo fato de estes serem um artefato tanto histórico quanto literário, um documento que recorta um período da história, neste caso, o do ensino das Literaturas Africanas de Língua Portuguesa na Faculdade de Ciências e Letras de Assis. Para analisar esse documento, recorreu-se ao arcabouço teórico-metodológico de Roger Chartier, com sua abordagem das representações sociais dentro da História Cultural. Ainda, pelo fato de a disciplina estar centrada no âmbito universitário, com toda a complexidade que isso implica, têm-se como suporte teórico os conceitos de campo universitário e habitus, de Pierre Bourdieu. Os resultados indicam que a disciplina Literaturas Africanas de Língua Portuguesa está em transformação e em meio a disputas no campo acadêmico, por isso goza de um reconhecimento parcial como um componente curricular dos cursos de Letras, ou seja, essas literaturas ainda estão subordinadas à Literatura Portuguesa.
The present research’s goal is to analyse the Programmes of African Literatures written in Portuguese Language based upon the Literature Course of the São Paulo State University campus of Assis (Unesp-Assis) between the years 1998 and 2018, as to verify the theoretical and literary marks that express its constitution, in addition to understanding how it is designed in the Brazilian scholar sphere, especially when it comes to the Literature Course at Unesp-Assis. Furthermore, it analyses the answers of three interviewees, professors who have been responsible for this subject during those years. To be more specifically, this study seeks to: unveil the process of designing the subject African Literatures written in Portuguese Language at Unesp-Assis; establish relationships between the data found in the document and the interviews with the three professors who taught this subject; understand the theoretical and methodological choices to affirm the importance of teaching African Literatures; articulate the document analysis with the interviews in order to understand professors’ practices and representations, and based on that to build an understanding of the historical process of this subject and its recognition in the university. The study of these Programmes is justified because they are both a historical and literary artifact, a document that cuts through a period of history, particularly the teaching of African Literatures written in Portuguese Language at the Unesp-Assis. The analyse of that document is based upon Roger Chartier's theoreticalmethodological framework, his approach to social representations within Cultural History. Yet, since the topic is centred on the university environment, with all the complexity implied, Pierre Bourdieu's concepts of University Field and Habitus are an important theoretical support. The results indicate the African Literatures written in Portuguese Language is undergoing transformation and amidst disputes in the academic environment, which is the reason it enjoys partial recognition as a curricular component of Literature, which means that African Literatures are still subordinate to Portuguese Literature.
