Resumo
Este trabalho buscou compreender a relação da expansão da malha urbana do município de Marília – SP com alguns aspectos geográficos, como a descontinuidade da malha urbana, a segregação socioespacial e a exclusão social. Para tal, fora determinado como objetivo principal a reflexão acerca de como a condição geomorfológica e demais aspectos geográficos do sítio local e da ocupação da região tiveram relação com o desenvolvimento e expansão do município, sendo que, para isso, foi necessário realizar um levantamento bibliográfico buscando relatar o histórico do município, pontuando questões ambientais, econômicas e sociais. Para reduzir a escala de análise delimitamos um recorte do município como área de estudo: as proximidades dos limites das escarpas que definem o Vale do Barbosa. Assim, em escala reduzida, procuramos analisar a relação íntima do relevo do sítio local e as variadas facetas habitacionais que se desenvolveram. Constatamos e analisamos as condições habitacionais diferenciadas nas diferentes margens das escarpas, utilizando os conceitos de segregação socioespacial e exclusão social nestas áreas, além de destacar os problemas/peculiaridades na mobilidade urbana.
This work sought to understand the relationship between the expansion of the urban mesh in the city of Marília - SP with some geographic aspects, such as the discontinuity of the urban mesh, socio-spatial segregation and social exclusion. For this purpose, the main objective was to reflect on how the geomorphological condition of the local site was related to the development and expansion of the municipality. Wich to this end, it was necessary to carry out a bibliographical survey seeking to report the history of the municipality, scoring environmental, economic and social. To reduce the scale of analysis, a section of the municipality was delimited as a study area, being the proximity of the limits of the escarpments that define the Vale do Barbosa, so that, on a reduced scale, the intimate relationship of the relief of the local site could be analyzed. and the various housing facets that have developed, with antagonistic housing conditions being found on the different sides of the scarps, applying the concepts of socio-spatial segregation and social exclusion in these areas, in addition to finding problems/peculiarities in urban mobility.
