Assessment policies on a large scale: analysis based on Weber
(Edipucrs-editora Univ Pucrs, 2022-01-01) Prado, Michelle de Souza [UNESP]; Garcia, Daniela Nogueira de Moraes [UNESP]; Secretaria Educ Estado Sao Paulo SEDUC; Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)
The following paper is linked to a theoretical approach about a pro-minent issue in Brazilian education, which are large-scale assessments. We aim to make notes on the standardized tests in the school context with the help of Max Weber's sociology. We elected two external assessments. Both tests are from the public school system: the first, Prova Brasil, nationwide, which evalua-tes the fifth and ninth years; and the second, developed by the State Education Department of Sao Paulo, affiliated to the first, entitled Assessment of Learning in Process (Avaliacao de Aprendizagem em Processo, AAP in Portuguese), the latter being the target of our discussions since the formation in the professional master's degree. The arguments start from the analysis of the situation in which the student, the assessed subject, is submitted throughout his career in free schooling to the scales of rationalized measures, as we will highlight through the Weberian theory, which does not take into account aspects such as management, training teaching staff, conditions and funds allocated to educational systems, due to excessive concern about the indexes.

Vocabulary acquisition and the use of dictionaries portuguese-english
(Federal Univ Ceara, 2022-03-01) Polizer, Alex Sandro da Silva [UNESP]; Marques, Giseli Sampaio de Oliveira [UNESP]; Zacarias, Regiani Aparecida Santos [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)
This article deals with the teaching of vocabulary with the Portuguese/ English dictionary. It highlights the importance of the effective use of a new word/ expression in order to guarantee language acquisition. The theoretical reference relies on Alves (1988), Biderman (1996, 1998), Jacobs (2002), Krieger (2006), Zacarias (2011), Lima (2014) and Fragoso (2018). The objective is to provide opportunities to expand the lexical repertoire of English in the school context by means of dictionary use. This work also presents a didactic sequence of activities for teaching vocabulary using the dictionary as source material. The activity is divided into three moments, the first one is aimed at arising students interest by their prior knowledge; the second, consists of presenting to students the parts of the dictionaries, and also its content and how the information is conveyed -as example in the Longman dictionary; the third moment brings suggestions to help students use new vocabulary effectively, such as word lists for easy reviews and personal consultations. The article also offers new perspectives regarding pedagogical lexicography. It is expected to collaborate and promote the effective use of Portuguese/English dictionaries in the classroom and to motivate their use in the extra-class environment, so as to encourage continuous and autonomous learning. Likewise, it is expected to contribute to some reflection on the improvement of lexicographic works from the perspective of the learner.

(2021-05-01) De Oliveira Altieri, Emanuelle Cristina [UNESP]; Rapucci, Cleide Antonia [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)
This article aims to analyze Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald's novel Save Me the Waltz (1932) as an autobiographical novel, considering the similarities between the author's biographical data and de main character's construction, Alabama Beggs. The discussion presented proposes to analyze to what extend the paths of both Zelda and Alabama intertwine considering gender oppression in social practices. The analyses have as theoretical basis authors such as Philippe Lejeune (2014), Eurídice Figueiredo (2013) and Elaine Showalter (1986).

Observação pedagógica em contexto de aprendizagem telecolaborativa
(2016-09-01) Funo, Ludmila Belotti Andreu [UNESP]; Elstermann, Anna-Katharina [UNESP]; Zakir, Maisa Alcântara [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)
This article aims at proposing an observation grid for teachers who work in telecollaborative learning contexts. In order to do that, a theoretical framework about telecollaborative learning environments, mediation and observation is presented. We develop a case study about observation practices performed by mediators related to the project 'Teletandem Brazil: foreign languages for all', which can be defined as a telecollaborative context for language learning The research data consist of eight open-ended questionnaires about mediators observation performances. The analysis affiliates a qualitative interpretation approach guided by Grounded Theory constructs. Finally, based on the literature, on the case study results discussed herein and on our experiences as researchers in tandem learning projects, we present a reflexive framework about pedagogical observation practices in telecollaborative and multimodal learning contexts.

BETWEEN MEMORY AND TRAVEL, TRADITION AND CONTEMPORANEITY. PROPOSAL TO READ AMERICA DO SUL: TRAICAO E OUTRAS VIAGENS (FURIN TO NANBEI), BY BANANA YOSHIMOTO
(Univ Federal Juiz Fora, Campus Univ, 2019-01-01) Afonso, Joy Nascimento [UNESP]; Betella, Gabriela Kvacek [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)
The investigation of the short stories of Banana Yoshimoto's Furin to Aranbei regards the relationships with the tradition of the first person genres in Japanese and Western culture to reveal the way of affirmation as feminine writing marked by a clash exposed in the literary structure, reinvigorated by the plots as an apparently paradoxical situation: the Japanese tradition of intimate female narratives coexists with new ways of narrating.

    ANGELA CARTER'S LIZZIE BORDEN: HERSTORY
(Centro Univ Uniabeu, 2019-01-01) Sardinha Caldeira, Carla Daniel [UNESP]; Rapucci, Cleide Antonia [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
This article aims to analyze the English author Angela Carter's short story, The Fall River Axe Murders found in her book of short stories Black Venus (1985). Such analysis takes into account the facts of Lizzie Borden's life that served as an inspiration to the short story which we see as a way for the author to promote herstory - that means telling Lizzie Borden's story through her perspective, considering the difficulties she had for being a woman in a Puritan society. Furthermore, we use texts such as Schofield's (1993), Lizzie Borden took an ax: history, feminism and American culture that provided us the real data about Lizzie's life; we also use feminist texts like the one by Harding (1985), Os Misterios da Mulher, for example. The goal is to show the subversive way which Carter revisits Lizzie Borden's story through her tale.

MOODLE PLATFORM AS NA EFFECTIVE TOOL IN PREPARING A BASIC PORTUGUESE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSE
(Unesp-faculdade Ciencias & Letras, 2017-01-01) Goes, Eduardo Rodrigues [UNESP]; Gomes, Leticia Bonesso [UNESP]; Santos Zacarias, Regiani Aparecida [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp); FCL Assis
The research, currently in development, proposes to analyze the platform Moodle-Unesp in an online course of Portuguese as a foreign language (PLE). The Moodle platform is a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) that allows, among many actions, the creation and management of courses, feasibility of didactic material and student evaluations. The interaction in the virtual environment can be created by activities proposed by the teacher (administrator) using the tools available in the Activities and Resources fields, available in the platform. Likewise, the association of tools of the Activities and Resources fields with digital didactic materials and adequate procedures for the teaching of Portuguese as a foreign language (PLE) are presented. The results show that the Moodle-Unesp modules allow the insertion of a wide variety of tasks and content in different formats for the development of speech, writing, listening, reading and culture skills, thus demonstrating the effectiveness of the platform in teaching PLE.

Wilson Bueno and the (trans) gender: a reading of Mar paraguayo and Jardim Zoologico
(Univ Estadual Paulista-unesp, 2019-01-01) Lovera de Florentino, Nadia Nelziza; Esteves, Antonio Roberto [UNESP]; Univ Fed Rondonia; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Starting from the understanding of gender as a social and discursive construction, this paper 's proposal is to analyze the description of the (trans) gender from the narrating protagonist of Mar paraguayo (1992) and in as yararas, a story from Jardim zoologico (1999), both works by Wilson Buena (1949-2010). In the discussions about the conceptualization of gender the theoretical considerations of Rogerio Puga (s.d.), Heloisa Buarque de Holanda (1994), Roberto Echavarren (1998; 2007), and others are used. Thus, is it from a brief literary course of the writer Wilson Bueno that we present both stories and finally analyze the existing connections between Mar paraguayo and as yararas, associating them to the (trans) gender androgynous and mutant - from the hybrid definitions of gender attributed to both the faceless doll and the yararas. We conclude that both characters can be arranged in a general in-betweenness, as creatures out of gender that exceed the notions of men and women, male and female.

Quaring the Queer: an intersectional bet between gender, race, ethnicity and class
(Univ Estadual Paulista-unesp, 2019-01-01) Morais, Fernando Luis de [UNESP]; Ceneviva Nigro, Claudia Maria [UNESP]; Rodrigues Benfatti, Flavia Andrea; Passos, Leandro; Passos, Luana [UNESP]; Moreira Soares, Luiz Henrique [UNESP]; Oliveira Ramos, Regiane Correa de; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp); Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU); Inst Fed Educ Ciencia & Tecnol Mato Grosso do Sul; Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS)
In this paper we attempt to problematize some of the limitations of queer theory, proposing a more unrestricted theoretical view, capable of establishing correlations between gender, race, ethnicity and class. In order to articulate such identity cleavages, we address the contributions of intersectional thinking and quare studies, an interventionist disciplinary project which amplifes the prototypical, analytical and epistemological dimensions of queer studies to incorporate key issues faced by lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgendered people of color. From the analysis of Blackberri 's song Beautiful Blackman (1989), Giovanni 's Room (1956), a novel byAfrican-American writer James Baldwin, and the photographic text of Erica Malunguinho (2018), by Sergio Fernandes, we depict the operational potential of such a new proposal, allowing clearer readings of quare identities, forcibly restrained by hegemonically instituted regimes.

The Imagination in Silence - a Discussion about Sylvia Plath's The Wishing Box
(Univ Estadual Paulista, Fundacao Editora Unesp, 2019-01-01) Da Rocha, Guilherme Magri [UNESP]; Rapucci, Cleide Antonia [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
In agreement with Lissa Paul (1997), we understand that one of the purposes of feminist criticism is to present re-readings and revisions of texts considered of less importance within the work of a certain writer. Therefore, this paper aims to problematize issues related to the literature of female authorship through a reading of The Wishing Box, a short-story written by Sylvia Plath (1932-1963), which was compiled by Ted Hughes (1930-1998) in the collection Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams (1977). In order to achieve this objective, we seek to examine, in the aforementioned short-story, the protagonist's representation, discussing gender relations as a category of analysis. This article is justified considering that there are few academic works involving Plath's short fiction, more specifically, in studies on female authorship writing.

The satisfied proscribed: Victor Hugo's exile works
(Univ Estadual Paulista-unesp, Fac Ciencias Letras Assis, 2017-01-01) Callipo, Daniela Mantarro [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Although Victor Hugo supported the candidacy of Louis Napoleon in the elections for president of the French Republic and helped to elect him in 1848, Hugo turned against Bonaparte after the coup d'etat in December of 1851. The opposition to the government resulted in an exile wich only finished 19 years later, with the decay of Napoleon III. Victor Hugo produced nonstop for all these years: Napoleon le Petit, Les Chatiments, Les Contemplations, Les Travailleurs de la Mer, Les Chansons des Rues et des Bois, La Legende des siecles, Les Miserables, William Shakespeare, Les Travailleurs de la Mer e L'Homme qui rit are examples of an arduous and inspired work, but that doesn't hide the sadness of the exile. This article aims to analyze the texts that Victor Hugo wrote during or after his banishment in order to comprehend in wich way it influenced his work.

THE BRAZILIAN SOAP OPERA: FROM THE ORIGIN TO ITS CONSTITUTION AS A COMMUNICATIVE RESOURCE
(Univ Fundacao Mineira Educacao & Cultura-fumec, 2017-01-01) Alves Marques, Francisco Claudio [UNESP]; Ribeiro, Rondinele Aparecido; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp); GP Cultura Popular & Tradicao Oral Vertentes; UENP
The soap opera is a very relevant genre of media fiction in Brazil, it has being constantly studied due to its ability to represent reality, serving as a cultural showcase. Introduced in the country in 1951, it can be said that the history of this genre is mingled with the own history of television in Brazil. The first soap operas were broadcast live, in non-daily format and with an alienating and evasive story; so the soap opera was disqualified by the reviews since then. However, the genre was disengaged from the essential characteristics of its Latin American matrix, becoming a largely problematizing narrative about the Brazilian reality. This article aims to discuss some of the considerations about soap opera origins, focusing on the hypothesis that it consists in a factual narrative about the nation and as a relevant communicative resource, as Lopes (2014) argues.

In the middle of the way there were some wars: exiles, memories and images in the relationships between Italy and the former Yugoslavia
(Univ Estadual Paulista-unesp, 2016-07-01) Betella, Gabriela Kvacek [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Taking as reference two historical events of the 20th century, the Second World War and the Balkan conflicts that led to the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia, this work assembles some inferences about the condition of exile in the contemporaneity by means of observations on two literary works written in Italian: the novel Materada by Fulvio Tomizza and the memoirs by Elvira Mujcic, Al di la de caos. Separated by almost fifty years, the facts they refer to and their accounts can be analysed as reality and representation of the atrocities that shake us even today. Nevertheless, the novel and the memoirs can also be seen as testimonies that are made by well-thought discontinuities, as if the literary text could contain, in the dislocation between form and content, in both cases, solutions to the representation of moments capable of unsettling the memory of the past and the links with the present, keeping the voices decided to resist.

    Yambo: between dismemory and rememoration
(Univ Estadual Paulista-unesp, 2016-07-01) Zaganin Rosa, Paulo Fernando [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Umberto Eco is the author of several theoretical texts that are fundamental for understanding contemporary art work. In 1980, he had his first experience as a novelist with the publication of The name of the rose, which was followed by six other novels. In this paper, we will focus on Eco's fifth novel, entitled The mysterious flame of queen Loana (2005), an edition that is full of illustrative material and a mixture of documents that refer to the years 1930-40, which present an overview of Italy at that time. The protagonist, a bibliophile who is called by his nickname, Yambo, loses personal memory, but keeps the bookish one intact. To try to retrieve it, he returns to his family's old house, located in Solara, in the mountains of Piedmont, where he ends up finding objects and information that relate to his youth - Fascism and World War II in Italy. Thus, our goal will be to verify how the presence of these elements results in a literary text that is able to discuss the relationship between individual memory and collective memory, as well as the constitution of individual and national Italian identities.

In this work we present the project of Centro de Línguas e Desenvolvimento de Professores and its potential for language teachers education process as well as for the inclusion of graduate students in a multi-activity space, all linked to education. The methodology we use is focused along the lines of qualitative research, specifically narrative research focused on the assumptions of Clandinin and Connelly (1995). We note, therefore, that in addition to enhancing the training of those involved, this center of languages is a context of research development and exchange of different cultures.

(Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), 2015-09-09) Doná, Débora Caroline [UNESP]; Ramos, Luan Cardoso [UNESP]; Pandolfi, Maira Angélica [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
The extension project UNATI - Open University for Senior Citizens- aims together with the students of campus UNESP/Assis to offer the elderly community from the city of Assis courses that provide the inclusion of this audience in the social coexistence. In this way, the course of Spanish language, ministered by two students of Letters course, expands the cultural manifestations that this language cover and highlight the importance of learning a foreign language. After all, the knowledge of a language enriches and contributes to the construction of the personal knowledge and it favors the elderly to understand new values under a linguistic-cultural perspective. At the same time, are concretized acquaintanceship and stories.
