Resumo

This article presents a study on the relationship between the natural environment of Chile and its effects on work Fragmentos - Notas sobre una falla sismica, of the visual artist Ignacio Vald6s (1956-): recognized as one of the most significant artists of Latin America. Encapsulated by the catastrophic state, Valdes made this environmental impact and its emotional effect in the work Fragmentos, exhibited at the Museo de Arte Contempornneo de Chile, in Santiago, from June 9 to 07 August 2016. This work consists of a set of sculptures resulting aesthetic development of the wreckage of a house affected by the earthquake effects occurred on february 27, 2010 in Chile.
