O Japonês da gravata borboleta: trajetória, arquivo e imagem: a experiência de pesquisa no e com o Arquivo Miyasaka

| dc.description.abstract | A pesquisa se propõe a realizar uma etnografia no e com Arquivo Miyasaka, ou seja, em seu espaço e a lógica que o orienta e com as imagens e pessoas emaranhadas com o arquivo, entendido como um objeto cultural em si mesmo. O arquivo fotográfico, com aproximadamente 14 mil imagens, localizado na cidade de Ribeirão Preto no interior do estado de São Paulo, compreende a produção do fotógrafo Tony Miyasaka, e dessa prolífica produção somente o conjunto “Jovem Miyasaka”, produzido entre os anos de 1950 e 1960, é analisado ao longo a pesquisa. Partindo do encontro e do estabelecimento das relações com as(os) interlocutoras(es), as fotografias e o arquivo é que se constituiu o campo etnográfico. As fotografias, conforme a pesquisa se desenrolava, começaram a adquirir um papel importante agenciando o estabelecimento das relações entre o pesquisador, os interlocutores e as narrativas evocadas por eles que envolvem o arquivo, as fotografias e a trajetória do fotógrafo ribeirão-pretano. Dessa forma, as fotos se apresentaram como interlocutoras da pesquisa, são objetos-agentes, que estão emaranhados na vida social. Seguindo a linha teórica de autores que se filiam à chamada “virada fenomenológica” no estudo com fotografias, como Elizabeth Edwards, Susan Sontag e Roland Barthes, valorizando a experiência que envolvem as fotos ao invés de análises que refletem, apenas, seus conteúdos semióticos. Assim, as fotografias foram compreendidas a partir de sua significância na vida das pessoas e no atos de fazer da pesquisa através da experiência compartilhada entre pesquisador e interlocutores com as imagens - ver fotos em conjunto -, dessa forma elas foram analisadas e pensadas a partir de seus efeitos e afetos, nos observadores entre eles o pesquisador e na trajetória de pesquisa, que ajudaram a determinar os caminhos percorridos e as relações estabelecidas. Investigar o Arquivo Miyasaka, portanto, permite (re)conhecer a trajetória do fotógrafo e seu arquivo, e assim (re)encontrá-lo como um dos expoentes da produção de imagens, fotográficas e em movimento, da cidade de Ribeirão Preto durante a segunda metade do século XX. | pt |
| dc.description.abstract | The research proposes to carry out an ethnography in and with Miyasaka Archive that is, in its space and the logic that guides it and with images and people entangled with the archive, understood as a cultural object in itself. The photographic archive, approximately 14 thousand images, located in the inner city of Ribeirão Preto in the state of São Paulo, includes the production of photographer Tony Miyasaka, of this prolific production only the set "Youth Miyasaka", produced between the years of 1950 and 1960, is analyzed during the research. Starting from the encounter and the establishment of the relations with the interlocutors, the photographs and the archive, all of this constituted the ethnographic field. The photographs, as the research developed, began to play an important role in establishing the relations between the researcher, the interlocutors and the narratives evoked by them that involve the archive, the photographs and the trajectory of the photographer. In this way, the photos presented themselves as interlocutors of the research, they are agent-objects, which are entangled in social life. Following the theoretical line of authors who join the so-called "phenomenological turn" in the study with photographs, such as Elizabeth Edwards, Susan Sontag and Roland Barthes, valuing the experience that involves the photos instead of analyzes that only reflect their semiotic contents. Thus, the photographs were understood from their significance in people's lives and in the acts of doing the research through the shared experience between researcher and interlocutors with the images - see photos together. In that way they were analyzed and reflected from its effects and affects, on the observers between them the researcher and the research trajectory, which helped to determine the paths covered and the relations established. Investigating the Miyasaka Archive, therefore, allows (re) knowing the trajectory of the photographer and his archive, and thus (re) find him as one of the exponents of the photographic and moving image production of the city of Ribeirão Preto during the second Half of the 20th century. | en |
