| dc.description.abstract | Neste trabalho investigamos a formação e a propagação de ondas não-lineares de superfície em sistemas convectivos. Consideramos apenas ondas de grande comprimento, nas situações em que o movimento convectivo ainda não teve início. Examinamos a influência de diferentes condições de contorno térmicas e mêcanicas, tanto no sistema de Rayleigh-Bénard, como no de Bénard-Marangoni. Deduzimos as equações que governam aevolução das ondas não-lineares na superfície destes dois sistemas, e descobrimos também a existência, de um processo difusivo que ocorre no limiar da convecção | por |
| dc.description.abstract | In this Work we investigate the formation and propagation of surface nonlinear waves in convective systems. We consider only long wa.ve modes. in situations wel! before the beginning of convective motion. We examine the influence of various different thermal and mechanical boundary conditions, both in the Rayleigh-Bénard and in the Bénard-Marangoni systems.
