Resumo
A pesquisa analisou a contradição na lógica de Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831). Para isso, percorremos dois caminhos. O primeiro se deu por meio da exposição lógica de Hegel sobre a contradição, na qual o filósofo desenvolve o sentido e o significado da contradição a partir das noções de identidade, diferença absoluta, diversidade e oposição. Isso ocorre na Doutrina da Essência. O segundo caminho se deu por meio do balanço histórico-crítico de Hegel sobre a contradição, onde os locais ocupados pela contradição ao longo da história da filosofia são analisados pelo filósofo. A leitura de Hegel enfatiza principalmente a obra de Aristóteles, Kant e os princípios lógicos, já bastante difundidos na filosofia de sua época. Nosso objetivo foi investigar o modo como Hegel entende a contradição e o nível que ela ocupa em sua filosofia, ou seja, seu sentido e significado. Visando alcançar aquilo que almejamos, permeamos as caracterizações de Hegel sobre a lógica e a metafísica, assim como o domínio de cada esfera lógica (ser, essência, conceito). Ao final, julgamos que para entender adequadamente a contradição em Hegel é preciso entender adequadamente como ele concebe a lógica e a metafísica, pois só assim é possível apreender o caráter verdadeiramente contraditório da contradição.
The research analyzed contradiction in the logic of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831). To do so, we followed two paths. The first was through Hegel’s logical exposition of contradiction, in which the philosopher develops the meaning of contradiction from the notions of identity, absolute difference, diversity, and opposition, which occurs in the Doctrine of Essence. The second path took place through Hegel’s historical-critical account of contradiction, where the places occupied by contradiction throughout the history of philosophy are analyzed by the philosopher. Hegel’s reading emphasizes mainly the work of Aristotle, Kant, and the logical principles, already widespread in the philosophy of his time. Our goal was to investigate the way Hegel understands contradiction and the level it occupies in his philosophy, that is, its meaning and significance. In order to achieve what we aimed at, we permeated Hegel’s characterizations of logic and metaphysics, as well as the domain of each logical sphere (being, essence, concept). In the end, we judge that to properly understand the contradiction in Hegel it is necessary to properly understand how he conceives logic and metaphysics, for only then is it possible to grasp the truly contradictory character of contradiction.
