Resumo
As raízes do movimento literário simbolista, no final do século XIX, embaralham-se com uma tendência de natureza mais cultural, definida como certo mal-estar diante do vazio de sentido do mundo e de um sentimento generalizado de decadência da civilização burguesa. Trataremos a Decadência não como uma etapa de preparação para o Simbolismo, mas sim como um estado de espírito, um modo de olhar o mundo, assim como evidencia Jean Pierrot, em seu livro L´Imaginaire decadent. A Decadência, portanto, constitui uma concepção pessimista da existência humana, que privilegia temas relacionados ao medo, à melancolia, à solidão, à dor de cunho existencial, à incerteza e ao fascínio pela ruína, campos semânticos que dão o tom negativo na focalização do mundo, o que fundamenta o imaginário decadente. Os textos poéticos de Al Berto, um dos poetas mais instigantes da produção portuguesa contemporânea, apresentam significativo diálogo com obras de vários poetas de diferentes períodos e com outras formas de linguagem artística, principalmente a pintura, a fotografia e o cinema. A poética de Al Berto fundamenta-se em vestígios herdados de muitas tradições líricas, entre elas o Simbolismo/Decadentismo. O imaginário decadente configura o modo como o poeta percebe e retrata o mundo em seus poemas. Este trabalho investiga, utilizando a obra do poeta Camilo Pessanha como paradigma, em que medida e de que maneira esse imaginário concorre para a configuração do olhar que fundamenta a obra poética de Al Berto, fazendo com que esta reflita as características que o contexto decadentista abarca.
The roots of the Symbolist literary movement at the end of nineteenth century, shuffle up with a more cultural trend, defined as a certain discomfort with the void of meaning in the world and a general feeling of decay of bourgeois civilization. We will treat the Decadence not as a preparation step for the Symbolism, but as a state of mind, a way of looking at the world, as evidenced Jean Pierrot, in his book L'Imaginaire decadent. The Decadence therefore constitutes a pessimistic conception of human existence, which emphasizes topics related to fear, melancholy, loneliness, the pain of existential nature, to uncertainty and fascination with ruin, semantic fields that give the negative tone in the focus of the world, which underlies the decadent imagery. The poetic texts of Al Berto, one of the most exciting contemporary poets of the Portuguese production, have meaningful dialogue with works of several poets of different periods and with other forms of artistic expression, especially painting, photography and cinema. The poetic of Al Berto is based on inherited traces of many lyrical traditions, among them Symbolism/Decadentism. The decadent imaginary sets the way the poet sees and portrays the world in his poems. This work investigates, using the work of the poet Camilo Pessanha as a paradigm, to what extent and in what way this imaginary contributes to the look configuration underlying the poetry of Al Berto, making this reflects the features of this context covers.
