Abstract (portuguese)
O tigre siberiano (Panthera tigris altaica) é uma das seis subespécies de tigre atualmente reconhecidas pela União Internacional de Conservação da Natureza (IUCN). A população de vida livre é estimada como sendo menor do que 400 indivíduos, com baixa variabilidade genética entre esses. O objetivo desta revisão de literatura foi verificar os métodos de reprodução artificial que tem sido utilizados nessa subespécie, assim como considerar suas eficácias como forma de auxílio na conservação da mesma. Para tanto foram selecionados cinco artigos de língua Inglesa, constatando a adoção de quatro técnicas de reprodução assistida, porém até o momento, não há uma biotécnica de eleição para a reprodução artificial dessa subespécie.
Abstract (portuguese)
The Amur Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) is one of six subspecies recognized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Its population in the wild is estimated to be less than 400 individuals, with low genetic diversity. The intention of this systematic review was to verify the methods of artificial reproduction, which has been applied in this subspecies, as well as to consider their efficiency as a mechanism to assist in its conservation. With this approach, five English-language articles were selected, demonstrating the use of four assisted reproduction techniques, however there isn’t a preferred artificial reproduction technique for this subspecies yet.
