Abstract

Intestinal ischemia is caused by arterial or venous occlusion and is accompanied by high mortality. Its diagnosis is often delayed because during the first hours, the patient usually presents with preserved general condition despite intense, but uncharacteristic, abdominal pain. And while the doctor investigates, the intestine loses its functions.
