Abstract (portuguese)
Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar e compreender as operações de fusões e
aquisições dos últimos 20 anos no mercado de sementes; identificando casos e
considerando fatores que influenciaram estas operações de maneira acelerada,
como a implementação de Leis e um Sistema de Propriedade Intelectual, que foram
de aspectos essenciais para o desenvolvimento positivo do mercado, a influência de
agentes públicos e privados, o impacto da utilização de biotecnologia no setor,
trazendo por consequência um crescimento magistral na produção. Ao fim deste
trabalho, o leitor será capaz de entender de forma prática a evolução desse
mercado e como é analisada estas operações a partir da perspectiva do agente
comprador/investidor.
Abstract (english)
This work aimed to analyze and comprehend mergers and acquisitions operations in
the seed market over the last 20 years. It identifies cases and considers factors that
accelerated these operations, such as the implementation of laws and an Intellectual
Property System, which were essential aspects for the positive development of the
market. The influence of public and private agents and the impact of biotechnology in
the sector also contributed to a remarkable growth in production. By the end of this
work, the reader will be able to practically understand the evolution of this market
and how these operations are analyzed from the perspective of the buyer/investor
agent.
