Resumo
Descrição
This dataset is associated with the article “Differential inflammatory responses to acute exercise and ex vivo immune challenge in young and master athletes”, accepted for publication in Frontiers in Immunology (DOI: 10.3389/fimmu.2025.1601405).
The study investigated inflammatory responses to acute exercise and ex vivo immune challenges (LPS and PMA/ionomycin stimulation), comparing young and master athletes.
The provided Excel spreadsheets contain raw and organized data across the following experimental domains:
• Cytokine production measured by ELISA in whole blood and PBMC cultures under different stimulation conditions.
• Gene expression of inflammatory and immunoregulatory markers in PBMCs, assessed by RT-qPCR.
• Immunophenotyping of NK cells and monocyte subsets by flow cytometry, including markers of activation, senescence, and exhaustion.
• Individual and group-level data, including baseline and post-exercise values, for both unstimulated and stimulated conditions (LPS and PMA/ionomycin), separated by age group (young vs. master athletes).
The data are provided in .xlsx format, with separate sheets for each analysis. All participant information has been anonymized. The dataset is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
