Resumo
In this chapter, we will deal with moral dilemmas, focusing on the construction, discussion in educational contexts, and the techniques for discussing dilemmas (dramatizations, Boal’s forum theater, and Chairs game) that provide dialogue based on mutual respect. It will be possible to find different ways of applying dilemmas and their classifications and stages of execution. It should be noted that the moral dilemma differs from a question in which a correct answer is expected, because morally conflicting situations are presented with the presence of a protagonist who finds himself in a situation created for discussion of the participants who, in addition to taking a position, are encouraged to issue a rational analysis, arguing to defend or refute the solution chosen by the protagonist of the story or what decision he should take and why. Creating a situation conducive to the emergence of cognitive conflict that according to Kohlberg is a way of maturing toward the next stage of moral development. People feel comfortable when confronted with mature opinions based on higher moral statuses than their own so that when they glimpse other forms of reasoning they can modify their own opinions.
