Resumo
Blood fluidity depends on the balance between coagulant and anticoagulant forces, which are composed of plasma proteins, governing the coagulation system and the fibrinolysis system. The predominance of one force over the other depends on a series of internal and external stimuli, making blood coagulation a dynamic process with thrombin generation and inhibition, as well as fibrin formation and lysis. Within the whole process that maintains blood homeostasis, should also be mentioned the central role of platelets, since it is essential in hemostasis.
