dc.description.abstractThis study presents the Matlab simulation of PID, type-1 and interval type-2 fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) applied to an Electromagnetic Force Compensation (EMFC) load cell, implemented in the Matlab/Simulink environment. A massspring-damper mechanical model is employed to represent system dynamics. The performance of the fuzzy controllers is compared to that of a conventional PID controller. Stability characteristics and frequency response are also investigated. FLCs yield superior performance in EMFC load cell applications when compared to classical PID control.
