Abstract
We developed a model for single-step electron transfer through bistable harmonic quantum potential wells. We solve the Schrödinger equation approximately and analyze both symmetric and asymmetric configurations of the system. In both cases, we determine the characteristic tunneling times of the process and obtain the behavior of the parameters and variables involved as a function of the angular frequency of the wells. Finally, we discuss the significance of applying each configuration in practical applications.
