dc.description.abstract | The present work aims to analyze Rubem Fonseca's short story The Charger, approaching its central character in a critique of the favored Brazilian classes. This article analyzes the violence and sadism contained in this narrative, through the study of the protagonist, who is part of a group of socially excluded and who revolts with his situation, seeking to resolve it through the paths of violence. It is possible to understand the formation of this character and, thus, analyze social inequality, sadism and violence, reflected in a subject who reaches the maximum point of brutality in the desire to change reality - actions understood as a transgression. With this analysis, we intend to demonstrate how much the literature represents the reality, society, culture and the most obscure feelings of the human being, especially for the postmodernist aesthetic and in the consumer metropolitan environment; unmatched by Fonseca. | en |
